Won’t support any Operation-all-out, will probe killings for world to see truth: Farooq Abdullah | KNO

Srinagar, January 12 (KNO) : National Conference will announce a truth and reconciliation process to probe killings in Kashmir if elected to power with a majority in the upcoming assembly elections, said the party president and Member of Parliament, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Saturday. According to KNO correspondent, Abdullah made these comments while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a party function in Anantnag district in South Kashmir on Saturday. Abdullah, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir said that Omar Abdullah, NC Vice President has already asked for the truth and reconciliation commission to probe the killings in the Valley. "We hope that God brings our party into power strongly. This probe will be a great thing that we will announce on the first day when the new government takes over that we will appoint Truth and Reconciliation Commission," Abdullah said, promising that they will see to it that the results are brought before the people not only in the State but for the rest of the world as well. Abdullah also said that his party wouldn’t support ‘Operation All-out’ launched against the militants and his party was not going to support any violence or violation of human rights. “Everyone is free, we live in a free country. And therefore we as a government we will have to see that freedom of people expression is not curbed,” he said. In his address to party men, Abdullah said that peace will only come to valley through dialogue and India Pakistan should talk to each other. "Even if India gets its all of the Army to Kashmir, peace will not usher. Talks are inevitable,” he told party workers.(KNO)
